On October 30, 2025, at the invitation of Governor Kim Tae-heum, President Yang Wanming of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) visited Chungcheongnam-do Province, Republic of Korea, and held a meeting with the Governor Kim Tae-heum. Chen Jing, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and President of the Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and Qu Huan, President of the Korea China Association for Cultural Exchange, were present at the meeting.

President Yang Wanming expressed his appreciation to Governor Kim Tae-heum for inviting the Chinese delegation to visit Chungcheongnam-do and to attend the "Voices for Peace: Korea-China Ties" Music Concert. He congratulated the province on the successful hosting of the 2025 Chungcheongnam-do Global Network Week, noting that the music concert, jointly organized by the CPAFFC and the Korea China Association for Cultural Exchange, was designed to use music and art as a bridge to enrich the forms of subnational cooperation and cultural exchange, deepen mutual understanding and affinity between the two peoples, and jointly promote the theme of peace. President Yang also briefed Governor Kim Tae-heum on the outcomes of the 3rd China-ROK Governors' Forum, commending Chungcheongnam-do for its longstanding and active engagement in exchanges with China, as well as its significant contributions to advancing subnational cooperation and fostering people-to-people friendship between the two countries.

President Yang Wanming emphasized that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 33 years ago, China-ROK relations have maintained steady and positive momentum. At present, the relationship stands at a crucial stage of improvement and development. He noted that President Xi Jinping's attendance at the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in the ROK and his state visit to the country would inject new impetus into the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership and elevate it to a new level. He expressed China's readiness to work with all sectors of the ROK, including Chungcheongnam-do, under the guidance of the new consensus reached by the leaders of two countries, to further deepen dialogue, exchanges, and practical cooperation across various fields between Chinese and South Korean subnational governments—contributing to the sound, steady, and long-term growth of China-ROK relations.

Vice Chairman Chen Jing congratulated Governor Kim Tae-heum on the positive results of his delegation's visit to Shanghai in August. He noted that Shanghai and Chungcheongnam-do have maintained a long-standing friendship and expressed Shanghai's willingness to further expand cooperation with Chungcheongnam-do in the fields of economy and trade, science and technology, and youth exchanges.

Governor Kim Tae-heum extended a warm welcome to President Yang Wanming and Vice Chairman Chen Jing to Chungcheongnam-do following the Governors' Forum. He congratulated them on the successful conclusion of the 3rd China-ROK Governors' Forum and noted that China and the ROK, as close neighbors within the Confucian cultural sphere, enjoy extensive exchanges across many areas. He underscored the importance of President Xi Jinping's state visit to the ROK, expressing confidence that it would further advance bilateral relations and bring greater benefits to the two peoples. Governor Kim Tae-heum added that in today's complex international environment, the ROK and China should uphold the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, jointly address challenges, and that Chungcheongnam-do would continue to value and strengthen its friendly cooperation with Chinese provinces and cities—making new contributions to the development of overall ROK-China relations.
