On October 15, 2025, Vice President Shen Xin of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with the delegation of Nicaraguan political leaders visiting China at the invitation of the CPAFFC.
Vice President Shen Xin extended a warm welcome to the delegation and held cordial discussions with its members. He noted that although China and Nicaragua are separated by vast oceans, the two peoples have long cherished a deep friendship. Since the resumption of diplomatic relations, and under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Nicaragua relations have made rapid and substantial progress. The two sides have consistently supported each other on issues concerning their core interests and major concerns, while practical cooperation has expanded across the board and produced fruitful results. Vice President Shen Xin affirmed that the CPAFFC stands ready to work with Nicaragua to actively promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas including business, media, sister-city partnerships, and youth engagement, in order to further advance bilateral relations.
Camila Ortega, head of the delegation, expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and commended the CPAFFC for its important contributions to fostering people-to-people friendship and safeguarding world peace. She emphasized that Nicaragua values its friendly ties with China and is willing to work closely with the CPAFFC to further expand practical cooperation in fields such as subnational and people-to-people exchanges.
Deng Lan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs of the CPAFFC, was present at the meeting.
