On October 31, 2025, Shen Xin, Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Marcel Arsenault, Founder and CEO of the U.S. Arsenault Family Foundation, and a delegation at the CPAFFC.
Vice President Shen Xin extended a welcome to Arsenault and the delegation. He expressed appreciation for Arsenault Family Foundation's support in facilitating exchanges between China and the U.S. in areas such as think tank cooperation and public health, and commended the Foundation's active contributions to promoting China-U.S. dialogue and upholding world peace. He noted that both sides should further strengthen cooperation, contributing more nongovernmental wisdom and strength to the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.
Arsenault stated that the Arsenault Family Foundation attaches great importance to its relations with China and hopes to carry out further exchanges and cooperation with the CPAFFC in fields such as health and narcotics control. He acknowledged China's remarkable accomplishments in economy, science and technology innovation and other fields, adding that China and the U.S. should learn from each other and make progress together. He believed that the two countries have sufficient patience and wisdom to find the right way to interact with each other.
The two sides also held in-depth discussions on topics including China-U.S. sister cities exchanges and business cooperation. Director-General Sun Tao and Deputy Director-General Deng Lan of the CPAFFC's Department of American and Oceanian Affairs attended the meeting.
