President Yang Wanming highly praised the Institute of African Studies for its long-standing contributions to promoting China-Africa think tank exchanges and talent cultivation. He also noted that President Xi Jinping's reply to scholars from 50 African countries fully reflects China's attention and commitment to fostering China-Africa cultural exchanges. The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) is eager to work alongside the Institute of African Studies and African scholars, taking the opportunity of the 2026 "China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges" to jointly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's letter. The goal is to strengthen China-Africa think tank exchanges and cooperation, promote mutual understanding between the peoples, and facilitate cultural mutual learning. This will contribute to building a new era of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future and advancing solidarity and revitalization within the Global South.

Jiang Yunliang, Party Secretary of Zhejiang Normal University, and Liu Hongwu, Director of the Institute of African Studies, introduced the institute's development history, research achievements, and cooperation with African think tanks. They expressed gratitude for the long-standing support from the CPAFFC for China-Africa think tank exchanges and stated their willingness to continue leveraging the institute's unique strengths in African studies to further promote China-Africa think tank cooperation and academic exchanges. They also emphasized their commitment to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Africa, contributing tirelessly to the construction and development of the China-Africa community with a shared future.

Ji Yongjun, Deputy Secretary-General of the CPAFFC; Ye Weihong, Chairman of the Jinhua Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and Xing Huidong, Full-time Vice President of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the exchange activity.
