China Friendship Delegation Visit Iran, Egypt and Tunisia

At the invitation of the Iran-China Friendship Association, Tunisia-China Friendship Association and Egypt-China Friendship Association, the Chinese Friendship Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) organized a China Friendship Delegation, paying a visit to the above three countries from 21st June to 2nd  July 2012.

During stay in Iran, the Chinese delegation, headed by H.E. Mr. Hua Liming (Vice President of China-Iran Friendship Association and former Chinese Ambassador to Iran) attended the 3rd Annual Conference of Iran-China Friendship Associations, jointly held by the CPAFFC and the Iran-China Friendship Association. H.E. Mr. Abutorabi (First Vice Speaker of Parliament), H.E. Mr. Mehmanparast (Deputy Minister and Spokesman of Ministry of Foreign Affairs), H.E. Mr. Boroojerdi (Chairman of the Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission) and Mr. Ni Ruchi (charge d’affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Iran) respectively met with the Chinese delegation. Visits to cities of Tabriz, Abadan, Qazvin and Isfahan were also arranged for the Chinese delegates. A Communiqué was signed at the Closing Ceremony of the Conference, which stated that the 4th Annual Conference be held in China in 2013.

In Egypt, the Chinese delegation held talks with Mr. Ahmed Waly, Vice Chairman of the Egypt-China Friendship Association. Mr. Yuan Mindao, Deputy Director General, Department of Asian and African Affairs of the CPAFFC, conveyed best regards of Madame Li Xiaolin (President of the CPAFFC) and Mr. Feng Zuoku (Vice President of the CPAFFC) to Mr. Waly and expressed the hope for the situation in Egypt be stabilized and people’s living conditions be restored as well as improved. Mr. Yuan extended invitation to Mr. Waly for attending the 4th Chinese-Arab Friendship Conference to be held in Ningxia Autonomous Region of China in September 2012. H.E. Mr. Song Aiguo, Chinese Ambassador in Egypt hosted a banquet both for the Chinese delegation and members of the Egypt-China Friendship Association.

In Tunisia, the Chinese delegation exchanged views with Tunisia-China Friendship Association on developing people-to-people relations and cooperation in tourism and trading olive oil and dates. Mr. Kalima Helali, Mayor of Ariana met with the Chinese delegation and expressed his willingness of finding a sister city in China for Ariana, which had geographical and economic advantages in Tunisia.
