On October 16, 2025, Vice Secretary-General Ji Yongjun of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CAPFFC) met with Chitimukulu, Paramount Chief of the Bemba people of Zambia at the CPAFFC. The two sides held in-depth discussions on topics of mutual interest, including China-Zambia relations, local-level cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.

Vice Secretary-General Ji extended a warm welcome to Paramount Chief Chitimukulu. He noted that, China and Zambia share a profound traditional friendship. Exchanges in various fields have grown increasingly closer, and the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries continues to deepen and yield tangible results. The CPAFFC is committed to further strengthening cooperation with all sectors of Zambian society, including the Bemba people, by building more exchange platforms in such areas as culture, youth, and local-level interaction to promote the steady and long-term development of China-Zambia relations.
Paramount Chief Chitimukulu commended the CPAFFC for its longstanding contribution to the friendship between the peoples of Zambia and China. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties over six decades ago, bilateral relations between the two countries have remained resilient amid changes in the international landscape. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the Bemba people and the Chinese side in areas such as agriculture, tourism, and culture, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the people of both countries.
Ivan Zyuulu, Ambassador of Zambia to China and Huang Xiaowei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian and African Affairs of the CPAFFC, attended the meeting.
