On October 23, 2025, President Yang Wanming of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with a delegation for Japan-China friendship exchanges from Japan's Kyushu and Yamaguchi region.

President Yang Wanming extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Moriyama Senichi, Vice President of the Japan-China Friendship Association and President of the Fukuoka Prefecture Japan-China Friendship Association. He congratulated the Japan-China Friendship Association on its 75th anniversary and expressed appreciation for the Japanese side's positive efforts in organizing the 2025 Kyushu Japan-China Friendship Exchange Conference and the China-Japan Sister Cities Exchange Event, as well as for the successful hosting of the 18th Japan-China Friendship Exchange Meeting in Japan.
President Yang noted that China-Japan relations are at a crucial stage of improvement and development. Regardless of how the international, regional, or domestic situation may evolve, both sides must remain firmly anchored in the belief in China-Japan friendship and consistently promote the development of a mutually beneficial strategic relationship in the right direction. The two countries should work together to build a constructive and stable China-Japan relationship that aligns with the demands of the new era. The CPAFFC is committed to working with the Japan-China Friendship Association and other friendly organizations from two countries to continue the tradition of friendship, strengthen mutual belief in friendship, and foster closer exchanges and cooperation at the subnational and youth levels. This will help two countries draw lessons from history, look towards the future, and contribute to promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, as well as advancing the continuous improvement and development of bilateral relations.
Moriyama Senichi expressed his admiration for the CPAFFC's long-standing commitment to promoting people-to-people exchanges and practical subnational cooperation between Japan and China. He stated that the Japan-China Friendship Associations in Kyushu and Yamaguchi have consistently advocated for peace and opposition to war. He expressed his hope that through this visit, the delegation members—particularly the youth—would gain a deeper understanding of China's economic and social development and the richness of Chinese culture. He further hoped that this would contribute to advancing friendly exchanges between the two peoples in various fields, especially among young people.
Sun Xueqing, Vice President of the CPAFFC and Zhu Dan, Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs of the CPAFFC, were present at the meeting.
