President Yang Wanming congratulated Ambassador Olexander Nechytaylo on his appointment and highlighted the longstanding friendship between China and Ukraine. He noted that the two countries established a strategic partnership as early as 2011. Since the beginning of 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi has met with the Ukrainian counterpart four times, engaging in in-depth discussions on major issues, which has created favorable conditions for consolidating and enhancing bilateral exchanges across various fields. China regards Ukraine as a friend and partner and has always taken a long-term approach to the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work together with Ukraine to expand practical cooperation and further advance the bilateral relationship. The CPAFFC attaches great importance to its exchanges with Ukraine and is eager to work closely with the Ukrainian Embassy in China to strengthen cooperation in areas such as culture, youth, and subnational government exchanges.

Ambassador Olexander Nechytaylo expressed his admiration for China's remarkable achievements in economic development and environmental protection. He noted that the peoples of Ukraine and China have maintained a longstanding friendship, and that cooperation between the two countries has never ceased, providing tangible benefits to the two peoples. He praised the CPAFFC for its significant efforts and contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples. He expressed the willingness of the Ukrainian Embassy in China to deepen its cooperation with the CPAFFC and to further unlock the potential for subnational cooperation. Ambassador Olexander Nechytaylo emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in the fields of culture, art, and education, thereby enriching the substance of the bilateral friendship.

Chen Lei, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European and Asian Affairs of the CPAFFC, and Kovhanko, Counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine in China, were present at the meeting.
