President Yang Wanming Meets with Cuban Ambassador to China Alberto Blanco Silva
On October?20, 2025, President Yang Wanming of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban Ambassador to China,?at the CPAFFC.President Yang emphasized that China and Cuba are not only good friends but also strong allies and partners. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 65 years ago, China-Cuba relations have continued to deepen, becoming a model of unity and cooperation among socialist nations and a shining example of sincere mutual support between developing countries. Last month, President Xi Jinping met with Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, who was in China to attend the commemorative event marking the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The two leaders held another meeting, further clarifying the direction and making plans for the next phase of building a China-Cuba community with a shared future. The 26th China-Japan-ROK Friendship Cities Exchange Conference Successfully Held in Yancheng, Jiangsu
On October 16, 2025, the 26th China-Japan-Republic of Korea (ROK) Friendship Cities Exchange Conference was held in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. The event was co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, Japan's Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR), and the Governors Association of?the Republic of?Korea (GAOK), and co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the Yancheng Municipal People's Government.?President Yang Wanming and Vice President Yuan Mindao?of the CPAFFC; Zhao Yan, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province; Zhou Bin, Secretary of the CPC Yancheng Municipal Committee; Mitsuru Yasuda, President of CLAIR; and You Min-bong, Secretary-General of GAOK, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Vietnamese Youth "Red Study Tour" in China Kicks Off in Chongqing

During his visit, President Yang attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the China Bulgaria Local Cooperation Conference on the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Cooperation. As a concrete step to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, the timely convening of the China Bulgaria Local Cooperation Conference in Bulgaria is highly significant. President Yang expressed hope that through this platform, subnational governments from both sides would further enhance mutual understanding, deepen exchanges and cooperation, align development strategies, and better serve the two peoples. He emphasized the importance of contributing wisdom and strength to the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as to the advancement of China-CEEC cooperation and China-EU relations.Ambassador Dai Qingli noted that there is great potential for cooperation between China and Bulgaria in areas such as agricultural products, food, and new energy. Subnational?governments from two countries should identify areas of alignment and transform their traditional friendship into concrete projects that benefit the two peoples.Minister Ivanov remarked that Bulgaria is actively exploring commercial models for deepening cooperation with China. More than 130 distinguished guests, including heads and representatives from 12 Chinese provinces and cities, including Beijing, Jiangsu, Ningbo, Dalian, Hefei, Yangzhou, Xinyu, Ganzhou, Zhoukou, and Leshan, as well as heads and representatives from over 40 Bulgarian cities, including Ruse, Shumen, Vidin, and Kazanlak, participated in in-depth exchanges on the theme of "City Cooperation to Promote a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind." During the city salon, representatives from both sides shared their experiences in areas such as economy and trade, investment, infrastructure development, smart cities, new energy, agriculture, education, and health and wellness tourism, based on their respective development characteristics. At the opening ceremony, Yangzhou City of Jiangsu Province signed a Friendship City Cooperation Action Plan with Razgrad City for the period 2026–2028. Dalian, Hefei, Xinyu, and Leshan also signed friendship city intention agreements with Bulgarian cities.

The conference was co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, the Bulgaria National Association for the Belt and Road, and the Bulgarian Cities Alliance. More than 130 participants attended the conference, including officials from 12 Chinese provinces and cities, as well as representatives from over 40 Bulgarian cities, along with figures from various sectors such as economy and trade, education, culture, and other fields from two countries.The conference focused on the theme of advancing the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind?through city-to-city cooperation. Following?the opening ceremony, a city salon was held, where representatives from both sides exchanged experiences and explored opportunities for collaboration on issues such as infrastructure, water treatment, smart cities, wellness tourism, green transformation, and cultural education. Throughout the event, several Sino-Bulgarian city friendship cooperation agreements were signed, and multiple bilateral city meetings were held.
